His Royal Highness stood with the President of Germany to pay tribute to the victims of the bombings. They joined a human chain at Neumarkt as a symbolic reminder of the victims of the bombing and a gesture of reconciliation.
The Duke of Kent also attended a reception with the President, and Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer, for people of special merit at Dresden City Hall.
His Royal Highness, Her Majesty's cousin, has a long-standing and close relationship with the city. The Duke of Kent has been committed to the ongoing relations between the UK and Germany and was awarded the Dresden Prize, an international peace prize, for his services to British-German reconciliation, in 2015.
